I never thought I could love a bike so much.
Here she is....
My new bike is a 2011 Trek Madone 3.1 WSD. Since it was last year's model, I got a great deal on it and that helped make it more affordable even though I still had to sell my soul and won't eat for a month. My biggest debate in purchasing a road bike was whether I wanted to spend more money to get a full carbon frame instead of an aluminium frame with a carbon fork. What's the difference you ask? Well apparently a full carbon frame gives you a smoother ride and the frame is more lightweight (easier to carry, easier to go faster). I got really lucky that my local bike shop had this bike, which is the full carbon frame, waiting just for me leftover from last year in the size that I was fit for.
So far, I absolutely love riding it. It is a little different than my hybrid (obviously) and I need to get used to sitting correctly on it. I had some shoulder pain this morning after going for a quick ride last night. So hopefully that doesn't turn into an issue!
