New Places

Yesterday I went running downtown instead of around my house.  This was beneficial for two reasons: 1- I parked at the YMCA and had easy access to the pool afterwards to swim, and 2- whenever I run in new places, I usually run better, faster, stronger because I'm not bored!  Do you ever experience anything like that?  Anyways, it was a great run, just under 30 minutes.  I only walked for about 2 minutes in the middle and that's because I had to run up this HUGE, STEEP hill.  I made it halfway up before I felt like I was going to die and had to stop and walk.  Other than that, it was a great run!

Today I was supposed to do some bike riding but it was just a little too chilly at the time I had fit into my schedule for the day (and I was at my parents and had only brought one option for workout clothing that was not very warm).  So instead I went to the gym and ran on the treadmill (I decided this would be my last running excursion before my 5K on Saturday).  Ew.  It.  Was.  Awful.  I used to love running on the treadmill before I transitioned to running outside because it was easier.  Apparently, not anymore.  I was so bored, and it was stuffy inside.  Hopefully, that will be the last treadmill run for awhile!
