I ran 4 miles today. Okay well it was combination of running and walking- 10 minutes running, 1 minute walking, repeat. I love intervals because they really help me realize that I can go distances that I didn't think I could. So I guess you could consider my four miles today running since that was definitely the majority. :)
Anyways, it was the first time I've ever done that distance and it was not easy. My time was 50:03. I would've really liked to be closer to 48:00, but I am just happy that I was able to sustain the intervals for the whole time and didn't stop all those times I wanted to walk (or take the turn back to my house early!).
What's all this running for? I'm running the Fifth Third Riverbank Run in Grand Rapids on May 12. It will be my first official 5K and I am super pumped/nervous/excited! I really want to do well (no walking!) and have a decent time (under 35:00 would be great!).
