Goodbye April

April has been the best month I've had in a long time. Spring always signals the start of new beginnings and the promise of what the rest of the year can bring. While we had very spring-like weather here in Western Michigan in March, it wasn't really until this month that the promise of what the rest of the year could bring really set in for me.

For me, April was the first month of real, steady weight loss after significantly being conscious of what I was eating and how I was exercising since mid-January. I followed Jillian Michael's 30-day Shred DVD and saw great improvement in my strength and the way my body looks. And, I'm down about 10 pounds for the month. :)

April also signals the first time that I've really felt like a runner! After sticking with it, and not giving up, I finally ran my first 5K without stopping to walk on April 17. It was a great personal achievement that I never really thought would happen. Now that it has...on to bigger and better things (more on that later!).
